WELCOME TO MONTESSORI SCHOOL OF ALEXANDRIA

Montessori School of Alexandria (MSA) was founded September 8, 1970 with the following mission in mind:

The purpose of MSA is to provide an early education program in which the foundation for a lifetime of creative learning is developed effectively and efficiently in the child. More specifically, MSA strives to develop within the school, a learning environment which surrounds the child with maximum motivation and opportunities to learn and achieve in directions consistent with his or her individual level of maturation.

MSA offers both Primary and Elementary Montessori Education. In addition, we offer an Extended Care Program for MSA students. Please explore our site to learn more about our Montessori school. We invite you to schedule a tour of MSA so we can meet you and your child.

Dear MSA Community,

What an incredible night you all made possible! Thanks to the generosity within and around our school we raised a healthy sum to further learning and opportunity in the coming year. Everyone came looking red-carpet fabulous and we had more than 60 people in attendance.

The class projects were gorgeous and, not surprisingly, garnered the most energetic bidding. Thank you to the parents who put those together with love and artistry. They will be treasured!

Special thanks to Melissa Wolpert who made us all feel like superstars by somehow getting PSAV Presentation Services to produce an AV extravaganza throughout the whole space (we're talking spotlights, a stage sized screen, incredible audio... the works) and to her husband for pro-level DJing that kept us moving all night.

Also a huge shout out to Rebecca Bryant who jumped in over the last month to secure a bunch of donations we've never had before. Persistence pays off!

We also had a lively and inspiring auctioneer in Lisa Landis who brought her 15-year-old daughter (an MSA graduate) to help out.

We're currently calculating our final numbers for the event and will share those at the upcoming PTO meeting so you definitely want to be there to hear the good news. But all signs suggest it's going to be really good news. We cut expenses this year and you attendees were breathtakingly generous. James and I were so moved by the ways in which the whole community came together to make this work.

Here is a link to the little video we showed that evening. I got a few quotes after it was complete but I have a plan for those. Stay tuned.

I can't close without a final thank you to the MSA staff. The outpouring of support on Saturday was a testament to what this school means to our children and to us as parents.

Your'e the best!
